I love details. I love to read books that have lots and lots of details. Probably one reason why I like The Lord of the Rings books so much. They are overflowing with details. Detailed accounts of everything that happens to each one of the characters and the history behind everything that’s taking place. Sometimes details run around in my head too much, and that is why I have a very hard time sleeping. Laying in bed is such a perfect place for the details to come out in droves in my mind. They’re like bats…..they like the night better when I’m trying to relax and rest and trust everything to the Lord…..they come out in flocks and swarm around in my mind. I don’t mind them so much then either, but I would like to change them into butterflies that flutter softly and like the day and don’t come too fast or fly around too ferociously. I’d get more sleep if they were butterflies. I didn’t get much sleep last night as is often the case with these details flying around. The night before last I watched 3 movies in the course of the night. That doesn’t leave much time for sleeping, but movies are how I try to focus on something outside of the details flying around in my mind. Last night I just watched the same movie over and over and over. I will say that I am very sleepy. heh I don’t fault the details because I love them, I thrive on them, but I still need to figure out how to be a “details” person and get some sleep! :)

I have some funny details of things I’ve seen and enjoyed over the last few days. I took the bus route to school and back with Lindsey on Friday. We had fun. It was an adventure, and I saw this on the walk from the bus stop to home.

Someone was very determined to mark this place. :P I don’t know how they got the shoes up on the highest power line, but it had to have been quite a throw.

And I discovered this amazing new recipe for cake in a mug. The first time I tried it, this is how it turned out…

It was so delicious. The second time we tried it we put a little powdered sugar on top and it was even better. Here is the recipe for those of you who would like a 3 minute chocolate fix. :)

Chocolate cake in a mug

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (Microwave Safe)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.  Add the egg and mix thoroughly before pouring in the milk and oil in.  Keep mixing.  Add the optional chocolate chips next (who makes that an option!) and vanilla extract, and mix again…then cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts in the microwave. (I have a 700 watt microwave so I cook it for 4 minutes and it turns out perfectly!)

And last but not least in this post today…..I am thoroughly enjoying this new addition to our little family. Hannah and Lindsey love him too, and I am so thankful God brought him our way!

He’s my seven pound bundle of cuddles and fun. He’s a lover, so polite, and just what I needed.

Tomorrow I start school, so tomorrow’s post will be full of those details I’m sure! :)
